Two governments hold this record
The city publishes its permits, code enforcement and police reports; the county assesses the parcel. Each line names the body, what it holds, and its own page. The only number here is 311, which is the city's service line.
The City of Los Angeles
- Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) — permits, inspections, code-enforcement cases, certificates of occupancy. dbs.lacity.gov. Permit and case lookup runs through its online services, which refuse automated readers, so the report links the portal rather than a record.
- Housing Department (LAHD) — the Rent Stabilization Ordinance, habitability, the registry of covered units the city does not publish as open data. housing.lacity.gov.
- MyLA311 — service requests. Dial 311 inside the city. myla311.lacity.gov.
- LAPD — incident reports, published to the hundredth block. lapdonline.org.
- City Planning — zoning, and the city's own Historic-Cultural Monument designations, which a National Register listing is not. planning.lacity.gov; zoning by address on ZIMAS.
- The open-data portal — every city feed this report reads. data.lacity.org.
Los Angeles County
- Office of the Assessor — the assessment roll by roll year, and the parcel map the report matches an address into. assessor.lacounty.gov; look a parcel up on the assessor's portal.
