For anyone deciding what to be told each morning

What Oakland files every day

Eleven lists from two feeds, because two feeds is what this city publishes with a date and a place on it. What each is, and what none of them is.

Eleven lists, two feeds

Every weekday the city records what residents reported and what the police wrote down. These are those filings, sorted by type, newest first, and never ranked. You choose which arrive in the morning.

What was reported

What the police recorded

What none of them is

None of these is a permit, because there are none. None is a violation notice, because the city publishes none. A 311 report says somebody called; it does not say an inspector agreed.

311 publishes the same day. The police feed runs about five weeks behind, measured as a completeness ramp rather than read off an update stamp, so the two lists built on it are five weeks of hindsight rather than this morning's news, and each says so.

Counts run 5 September 2026.
