The county: the parcel, the value and the sale
- Hamilton County Auditor — hamiltoncountyauditor.org. The office that sets the market value and records the transfer.
- The Auditor's property search — wedge.hcauditor.org. Parcel by parcel, with the value, the class and the sale history.
- CAGIS — cagismaps.hamilton-co.org. The county and city mapping service. The parcel record, the address register, the zoning and the Ohio River flood stages in this report are read from it.
The city: permits, code enforcement, crime, fire and 311
- The open data portal — data.cincinnati-oh.gov. Every count on the block in this report comes from here, and every dataset it uses is named on the report's own lines.
- Buildings & Inspections — cincinnati-oh.gov/buildings. The department that issues the permits and opens the code-enforcement cases.
What to ask for when the record is not online
Two things this report cannot give you, because the county does not publish them as data: the year a building was built, and how many units are in it. The Auditor's office holds both on the property card. So does the floor area. If any of the three decides your question, that is the call to make.
And one thing nobody will give you
An owner's name is not in this report and will not be. That is a design line rather than a gap: this product describes a place and never a person, and the county's own parcel file carries owner and previous-owner columns that it is written never to read.
