- Department of Buildings - nyc.gov/buildings. Permits, violations, and the certificate of occupancy.
- Housing Preservation and Development - nyc.gov/hpd. Housing maintenance violations and registration.
- Department of City Planning - nyc.gov/planning. PLUTO, zoning, and the land use map.
Looking one building up by hand
- DOB Building Information Search - by address or BIN, for permits, violations and the certificate of occupancy.
- ZoLa, the city's zoning map, for the district and overlays on a lot.
- ACRIS, the Register's recording system, for deeds and mortgages. This is where the sale price lives, and it is not in the open data this report reads.
And one thing nobody publishes here
An owner's name is not in this report and will not be. The permit feed carries one, along with the owner's home address and the permittee's telephone number, and this product reads none of those columns. It describes a place and never a person.
